Who is this James who invited you to go to meet him in Santiago de Compostela ?

The history :

Sent to bring Gospel over the world :

He is one of the twelve apostles ; Zébédée's son, John's brother, first called with him by Jesus.

He was sent by the Christ to bring the good news of Gospel in the world. James was sent to convert people of Spain.

A martyr :

Back to Palestine, he realised so many conversions that king Herode-Agripa 1 became furious. James condemned to death and was decapitated around year 42 after J.C.

The legend :

His friends took his remains, put them in a small boat that floated through Mediteraneen sea guided by an angel. Gibraltar strait passed, the boat stopped and ran aground on Gallice coasts in Iria harbour ( now called Padron).
